if you had a commonwealth gold around you neck Quote:
would you hold your certificate in front of it
my daughter did , well it is not here but a black belt from her club who just came back from Canada with it taking gold in taekwondo poomsae
well had a good day today with my daughter competing in stoke although with the fog it was a nightmare finding the place and the sat nav telling me to go on a roundabout that not there lol.
we had only been there ten minutes and she was told she was the second match so did didn't have much time to prepare , she was matched against a good friend of hers from another club and it was a good match in size etc, the match was going one way then another and finished up 6~ 6 going to golden point which is a very tense situation, she scored the point although they forgot to reset the score so did not register , her m8 then scored the golden point although the girls dad ( who was the ref ) told her she won it in normal time and not being awarded a clear point and her m8 said she was lucky as Elizabeth did score the golden point .
she also preformed pomsae preforming patterns well above her grade and her instructor told he she definitely had a third place , but hay it's never cut and dry.
the one good thing is there was say 40 fights and not ONE injury which is good as the ice packs are always out at all the other comps i have been toohttp://deansplace.org/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

yes bloody stoke what a nigh Maire
it was only a small invitation comp and who knows if she had of had more time may be better results although this comp today was more of a end of year wind down, from our club this year we have had much susses in both poomsae and sparing and think chan's commonwealth gold was the top . we also got a gold and silver at the British championship in Manchester and that is not bad :ok
next week we have 2 kids going to Germany to fight and both train 4~5 times a week.
couldn't believe Elizabeth had a commonwealth gold and covered it with a certificate lol

Carl
the place i went to was
Wallace sports education centre, Abbott's rd, hulton skoke on Trent st2 8du
do you know were it is lol, i was told by a couple of locals i should of set the sat nave for port vales ground then for this place and it would of been more straight forward, i think the big problem was the weather conditions and at the end of the day the sat nav got me there in the end .
the pictures were only taken with a cheap digital camera but not bad for snaps although a bit of red eye , at the moment Elizabeth taekwondo is taking up a lot of my time and the Sat's been put on the back burner , as the age of the motor it has got a bit of play and have to nudge all the channels west from time to time, i have also put a 0.1db lmb on it and this helps and get a bit of the football on it

what a small world lol
the comp was only friendly 1-2-1 were the match you up with somebody similar to you , they are great for first timers and people who want to try it out , it is so often that kids go to opens and because of the weight divisions are beaten so quick and it dents there confidence and they don't want to fight again and some cops are expensive , Elizabeth is at a disadvantage being a bit chunky although was matched up against a girl of similar size and weight and it could of gone either way lol, we got there late and she did not even have time to warm up before she got on the mat so thrown in the deep end but did well.
halton taekwondo is only a small club although we got a gold and silver in the British championship in the under thirteens, these two are competing in Germany next weekend this costs mega money although it has been funded by the club, if they do well here then they have a better chance at the British team and this could lead to 2012 Olympic , we also have a good 15 year old although could not make it because of school work.

Stokes a nice place......lol
Glad you found it ok eventually Stoke screws sat nav up, even the bus drivers get lost around some of our estates etc...
Your daughter has a bright promising future ahead of her m8, she did well, prob is with todays society a handful of bad kids give every other kid a bad reputation which makes it harder for any kid to achieve anything, because a lot of people arent prepared to give kids chances and we all need chances in life, your daughter took her chance with both hands and succeeded, Congrats to your daughter m8...she did well!.

hi pp
yes she does :ok
seen the score in the football, do you still have that bet with Mrs p
if you beat me i wear your knickers:ok
yes at the moment she is working hard on the technical aspects, on top of her normal training she is training in Manchester one to two times a month with grand master T W Shin 8th dan voted second best poomsae coach in the world this year so he knows his stuff. she got her last club grading next week ( if she does it as she a bit worried ) don't know why then her black belt next year ,she will be graded by two of the people she training with in Manchester so they will let us know when the time is right to do it as it is a bit expensive @ £140.
think on the 27th we may be back in stoke (god help us ) if we are not a way for a four hour training session that she wants to do.
