Hi, Don't know if anyone can help, I'm looking into chipping my lads Nintendo Wii so I can get the games cheaper. I see a few websites some saying about solder free modules and some that you need to solder. Soldering won't we an issue but wondered if anyone could just let me know anything about this as obviously I'd like to know a bit about it all before I start purchasing chips and taking the Wii to bits.

Regards
Colesy

my mate got his chipped at bowlers i think it was £70.
he got his wii from usa and still plays all games.
he got 20 games for £40. and his lad does not play with it now as he prefers ps2 and xbox360.

thinking of getting my daughters done for christmas

now it is a lot more simpler in that no big soldering job and most times the chip can be fit on a pre soldered clip that clips over your chip although in some cases one wire has to be soldered , think that's better than the original 17+ wires

have a look here (http://www.shop.consolebits.info)

think the main thing is getting the right chip for your drive

my lad has just had a amazing bit of luck he saw a advert for a local store selling Nintendo wii for £100 to first five customers so he went to another store which guarantees to match cheapest local price & they agreed so he got a brand new Wii for £100 plus game plus controller plus numchuck

Hi,
Thanks for the replies, chipped the Wii, it's a bit frightening with the amount of screws and bits that need to come apart to get to where you need to.
But it was successful and still works, which is a bonus!!!!
Unfortunately the games I bought out in Thailand are NTSC which I have been told will block it up.

But my 6 year old son loves it!!!

Hi,
I chipped mine about 3 weeks a go. I put a D2Pro solderless chip in and it works a treat.

I got it from
www.wii-chip.co.uk

Hope that helps

i went for a clip

orded the chip and just had to tell them what drive chip it has and they set it up, took a lad in work ten minutes as it just clips over the origenal chip with no soldering .

downloaded a few games and the play ok

when you download one try and go for a scrubbed file

this is what i have been told, all games on the disk are the same size ( think it is 4.6 gig )and contain a lot of usless code

you download a scrubbed version and it is say 600 meg but when you extract it, it is the 4.6 gig so they come down quick and it is the full game
