So now that a smoking ban in the uk will be introduced next year , the government is now turning it`s head towards alcohol, they want alcohol manufacturers to include a warning on all alcohol saying it is bad for your health, no doubt in a couple of years down the line it will be banned as almighty or should that be the control freak decides he doesnt want people enjoying himself in his Britain.
Would you support a alcohol ban?
I personally dont drink because of ill health, but surely its your choice isnt it?

well as alcohol kills more people every year than heroin, crack, coke ect, COMBINED.. i don't think it would be legalised nowdays, but its here so we deal with it, and as long as its responsibly consumed then its not a problem.

its gotta be 10 years since i drank anymore than half a pint. i dont miss it 1 little bit. but the same as my fags, i'd hate to think i was'nt free to choose..
i know its gonna prompt a reaction but i think we should have "at least twice as many prison cells" for any kind of antisocial/ilegal behaviour

Whats anti social behaviour m8, yobs on the street making a nuisance..yes
kids in the library making noises? no
kids on the grass playing football? no
kids on the pavements riding bikes? no
oaps stopping at the bottom of escalators to chat - ?
problem is people see anti social behaviour as different things we have all done things that could be classed as anti social - ie car engine at 5am in the morning etc
but what kind of message is the government sending out?
you can be prosecuted for kicking a ball on a grass verge, but the shop lifter as long as the goods arent worth £75 or more u will now get a caution, it annoys me when u see a single mother with 2 kids struggling on benefit...yet at the same a druggie can keep going into social for crisis loans of £20 to pay for his drugs...
starving kids is more of a crisis in my opion.

agree 100% cal maybe we ought to let common people make the social laws instead of the wan**rs who live miles from nowhere behind 8ft walls..but i'm serious when i say i would have no qualms about paying extra tax for more prisons cos wether we like like it or not the scum that is committing these offences have respect for nothing and the only alternative to respect is fear
and b4 i forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY M8:ok

A total alcohol or tobacco ban will never happen. All the government can do is to tax it to the hilt and use (and try to enforce) location bans.
Look at what happened to the US during Prohibition - organised crime took over the manufature & supply of bootleg alcohol, although I understand it was fairly easy to legitimately get low strength stuff on prescription that had instructions on it detailing how to increase the ABV.
In the end it turned into a farce and the only winners were the crime bosses. Interestingly it was only illegal to manufacture and tranport alcohol, several establishments with large cellar stocks enjoyed a boom time during Prohibition.
I'll tell you was IS anti social behavior - some f***ing toe-rag coming into my house on Friday night and disappearing with some cash, wallet, phone, car key and car. IMO there is not a lot to admire with Sharia law (the bits I've seen look like contradictory and reactionary b******s) but I guess they must have very low repeat offender rates.
Currently looking at getting http://www.zoneminder.com/ set up so at least can get some piccies of these twoots next time they show an interest in our street.

Reminds me of a story i heard about a while back..
someone heard a noise and looked out of the window to discover 2-3 teenagers breaking into his shed...he phoned the police and was told they may send someone out,10 minutes later the teenagers were in the shed going through stuff so he rephoned the police...and told them they better send a ambulance because he may be going out to them with his gun..
within 5 minutes there were 3 police cars outside his house..
he was questioned and all he said was "may"
Been a publican I must be the route cause of all evil
Just one point
Make it ilegal for under 18's to buy it. At the moment its just the sale thats banned. So if a youngster gets pissed. The Shop keeper is in shit and rightly so, but the kid goes on to buy another day!!! no punishment !!!
If kids started to get big fines for there parents to pay. I am sure a few more will start taking an interest in what there kids are upto!!!
