I dont know how this has happened but I recorded a program off the dreambox hdd to dvd the other day.

But the recording was made to the dvd in a 4:3 format when the original broadcast was 16:9 (widescreen).

I'm trying to use the computer to correct this but whatever I do the program I using Nero recode (cos I want to convert it to Mpeg4) will only recognise the source as 4:3 and does not give the option to correct the aspect ratio.

So does anyone know of a program that Can take a source ratio of 4:3 and change it to 16:9, the original and correct ratio?.

you could try DVDpatcher, and patch the header, but only work with a copy of the image to be patched, incase it dosn't work and you mess it up, all so when you first open the file before patching note down the settings, so you can re patch it back to the original.

Hi m8 not sure if this is any help but WINAVI 7.0 posted yesterday by dave mack is supposed to be able to convert virtually anything so might be worth giving it a go:icon14:

I've found a program called IfoAR2WS that does exacally the job I want it to. It simply alters the attributes of the .IFO file to correct a 4:3 to 16:9.
