i've had this problem for awhile but gave upon it because i had too many other things to do.

My original modem/router just died, So I have replaced it with a new Belkin f5d7633. The belkin has an integrated wireless router as well as ethernet switch. The wireless is capable of 125mbps so it should be fast enough to stream video from the Dbox to a laptop.

i have used VLC and also Mgrab but when streaming to the laptop the video is choppy and freezes. I thought it was because the original wireless router was only 54bps but the new one is the same.
On further reflection I realised the w'less network adaptor in the laptop is only 54mbps it will be limiting the speed of the new router.

What's puzzling me is I have just tried streaming using VLC on 2 of the other network pc's which are hard wired to the LAN. and they are the same., Choppy and freezing. That means it can't be the speed of the w'less connection causing the problem.

I'm posting here because I am guessing it is something to do with the network connections but I am lost. Can anyone suggest where to looking for a solution to this one?

Hi Mark

I have exactly the same router, my laptop has a 54Mbps adapter and it all streams flawlessly?

Have you tried Dreamview? Here (http://www.uksatcentre.com/forums/showthread.php?t=330)

I would disable any software firewalls you have firstly and try it again.

Did you tick and install active x with VLC?

Not tried dreamview yet. I uninstalled VLC and reinstalled with the activex plugin before trying. still choppy as hell.

I will have a play with the firewalls but I am struggling with a virus on one pc at the minute so don't want to cross infect the network.

good to hear it all works on your setup, there's hope yet.

dreamview works ok but I find it slow the quickest way is though the enigma web interface and click on the pids
