A luxury Beatles-themed hotel has opened in Liverpool.
The four-star Hard Day's Night hotel on North John Street, a stone's throw from the famous Cavern club, has 110 rooms and two luxury penthouses.

It is decorated with previously unseen Fab Four photos and original artwork from acclaimed Beatles' artist Shannon.

The hotel also has a wedding chapel and civil wedding licence, so couples can tie the knot in front of pictures of the Beatles and their partners.

It already has bookings for six weddings.

Hotel manager Mike Dewey said: "It has been a long time coming. We first talked about it 11 years ago and now we open our doors to customers for the first time.

We have had calls from Brazil, Scandinavia and Russia

Hotel manager Mike Dewey

"This is the day we've waited for."

Money might not buy you love, but a stay with your partner in the Lennon or McCartney suite will cost £650 a night.

The white minimalist Lennon suite even comes complete with a white baby grand piano.

The theme continues in the restaurant Blakes, named after designer of Sergeant Pepper's album cover designer Peter Blake, and shows separate pictures of everyone featured in the iconic picture.

Mr Dewey said he has already received inquiries from across the world.

"Interest has been unbelievable. We have had calls from Brazil, Scandinavia and Russia. It has been extraordinary," he said.

"The bookings are already good. It hasn't taken a lot of selling - The Beatles have been the biggest single export this country's ever had.

The first visitors to the hotel will be treated to a Beatles extravaganza, with a busker outside the front door and a special programme of music playing throughout the evening.

Busker at the door?

I'm sure I recall mention of this last year at some point. I cant believe they went ahead with it. So obviously a comercial rip-off of a part of music history and a great city!.

Even if a millionare, no chance would I pay silly money like that for something that is clearly a non aurhorised cashing in excercise 40 years to late!!!.
