Hi all
got mum an internet radio for chrimbo so she can listen to radio stations in different rooms, it works on her wirless network, a few times it has not got a signal even though it is in the same place, can signal strength from your router fluctuate- go up and down

yes m8 it can & will fluctuate i know it sounds daft but my signal is often affected by things as simple as people passing in front of the router....the microwave oven really messes it up...i think the most common suggestion youll find is place the router as high as you possibly can
another suggestion would be something which came as a bit of a revelation to me would be a pair of these powerline ethernet adapters...fairly expensive at the moment and require the radio to have an ethernet socket but im guessing it will have ???
also if you did go down this route their use dosnt necessarilly need to be restricted to the radio:ok

i will try moving the router but at least we know it is working fine

Another problem can be wireless landline phone handsets.
It also might be worth checking to see if you have the wireless broadcasting on the same channel (or close to a channel) as your neighbour. I put my router on channel 6 as everyone around me was using channel 11. :ok

Wireless video senders are another form of interference to WiFi systems. Mine wipes out my router signal so I ditched it, dirtiest transmitter I have ever seen.
