Tried many many years ago.......... eeekkk !
Then it was quite expensive ....
Was really good fun but also very demanding and physically tiring aswell, i went thru endless hours of training in a pool based enviroment and very little actual sea diving..
I did mange to obtain PADI ..which came in handy on hols.. went diving in Malta and greece...
If i had the funds i would certainly look to getting back into it again...
Good Fun...
Make sure If you goin on hols and you take these week long course things that all schools and trainers are Padi registered and certified.

I tried scuba diving twice!
It's fantastic, I took advanatage of the offer for a free trial introduction at Mold swimming baths. It's the closest thing to flying I would say, free as a bird.
The British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC).
BSAC run these free trials throughout the country
Take a look -http://www.bsac.com/
I am not sure if I could join? (I would love to) insurance willing!

I used to travel to the Philippines working quite regularly.
I used to go diving at the weekends in and around Subic Bay.
I'v also done a bit in Turkey and Greece and the other other year in a marine park off the coast of Malaysia.
Hoping to get wet on holiday this year but not sorted anything out yet.

cool!. have you dived anywhere other than egypt? i've dived in turkey and egypt. great fun :biggrin . With the nitrox does that give you a longer dive time or something?

hi chris only dived in eygpt m8. yes the nitrox gives you longer bottom time and it better for you if you do more dives in the day.

i was all up for it a 7 years ago , we were in Mexico , as i was best man at my mates wedding.
i did a trial in the pool there was me and a guy from Holland , the instructor said at the end of the hour i was a natural. he looked at the dutch guy and said you were not so good. i thought OK here goes he is going to try and sell it to me .
i said we are going to the Maldives in about 2 months for 3 weeks. he said fantastic .. don`t book in here then , the Maldives is one of the best places in the world. if i was a natural i might never find out though .
we had a Catamaran acident in the maldives and it put me of warter :rolleyes2
i would still like to have ago sometime though
