I very rarely watch any uk tv now, its pc then dvd then satellite
I look at the tv listings and its all the same...
Diy, sell your house, buy a house, flog junk from the loft and bake a pavalova, followed by get slim, visit some stars place where they grew up, watch some freaks in a house, then watch a cop drive fast arrest some car thief who will get away with it, then the news then followed by american drivel.
Growing up in the 70s and 80s i witnessed some great tv.
Kids tv was all about kids, not much american shite, Why Dont You!, Magpie,How?,Pipkins, Rainbow and many great kids movies that didnt come from hollywood that were real down to earth, Documentaries that were just so watchable not just about camera filming techniques varying from a sex change to a trip to the moon, to a single mum of 5 on a council estate in leeds etc.
Comedy that wasnt rude, vulgar but it made you laugh,its all been ruined by Political correctness and you cant show or say that on tv.
Movies, of every kind were on from World Cinema which opened your eyes and mind, red triangle that showed you what sex was all about and not just the hollywood blockbusters that have all been turned into the same story.
Music was a big part of tv from the whistle test to the tube,top of the pops to cd:uk , friday nights was a great night comedy and those aweful must watch horror movies.
I used to love tv and now i dont watch much uk tv because its all the same borning crap, i mean X-Factor back on this weekend, Bbc will no doubt bring there equiv back and then more of, saturday nights were all about the comedy like mind your language,game for a laugh and then followed by the show like gladiators, then the movie, now its millionaire, and probably some woman who can speak to the dead on the other side its some man who can speak to the dead, on 5 its some baby who can speak to the dead and on 4 its the top 10 of the top 10`s etc.
Dont get me wrong there are/is some great shows about like lost, heroes,supernatural, But i do miss the great Tv i was brought up with, do you?
