Ive always found that XP is godawful if you change the mobo or processor .........

I agree m8, ive found that winxp throws a wobbly at anything that is slightly different than the previous setup ie move a hdd around and sometimes the blue screen of death also known as the 2nd microsoft logo will appear.

i must be lucky.
i've gone from a athlon 1000 to athlon XP3000 and at the moment down to a XP2400+ this is the 4th different make MB, and 5 PSU's, but just keep popping the Win XP harddrive back in, a few driver updates and everything is ok:biggrin

saying that i wasn't so lucky, with blowing MB, CP's and PSU's:evil:

had problems in the past with mains supply not being earthed and blowing everything:bash

Dont tell me m8, i had a shuttle case last year switched it on and got electrocuted, one of the 3 pins had come off from the case (where you plug the kettle lead in) and was touching the case....bang tingly black fingers.

a m8 had a water cooled system, were the resivoir was plugged seperately into the mains... well his mrs switched on the pc and not the watercooler and fried his 6week old P4 EE and 9800XT (about £600 worth). he was not a happy chappie :biggrin
