Got to be the 80's for me mate (probably because I'm too young to remember any earlier than that ! :biggrin )
The 90's had some interesting moments (music wise) but not enough to make it that memorable.
The last 6 years ? Have people still being making records ? :biggrin

i picked the 70's mainly for the music, bands like the jam, queen , led-zep, and the saturday morning tv, banana splits followed by the famous five and multi coloured swap-shop.
Oh No -It's Selwyn Froggitt... jeez that takes me back, i remember seeing heartbeat for the first time and greengrass walked in which gave me a chuckle as 20 years later he looked exacly how i remembered him :ok

I went for the 80's , some top music, kids programmes, and generally good times the 80's were for me.. but then again they were my main school years and arent they supposed to be the best yrs of your life.. ? lol
I liked alot of the 70's aswell, only for me I had Elvis constantly blasted thru my bedroom wall by my uncle who lived with us, along with Earth ,wind and fire, shawaddywaddy, stylistics, till Grease came along in 77, then I got my own back!
The 00's.. well what can i say.. ???? not alot!
The poll doesn't go back far enough:confused In the 30s & 40s, there were Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Rodgers and many others producing songs that are still often heard today. There were artists like Crosby, Sinatra, Torme, Cole, Fitzgerald, Holliday and many others that are still heard on radio & TV many years after they have died.
Ah well, I suppose I'm showing my age but I do like to hear a tuneful song with good lyrics and really enjoy stage musicals like "Anything Goes" that I saw at Stafford Gatehouse recently:biggrin

Ok m8 sorted for ya!
Thanks Son,
I imagine I'm in a minority of one, but with songs like Crosby's "White Christmas" (Irving Berlin), Fitzgerald's "I've Got You Under My Skin" (Cole Porter), Sinatra's "The Lady Is A Tramp" (Lorenz Hart) etc etc etc plus musicals like "Oklahoma" (Rodgers & Hammerstein), "Showboat" (George Gershwin), "Guys & Dolls" (Frank Loesser) etc etc etc plus swing bands like Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Ted Heath, Stan Kenton etc etc etc the 30s & 40s were richly blessed compared to other decades:biggrin
If any of you M8s haven't much knowledge of 30s & 40s popular music, I suggest it would be worthwhile googling some of the stuff mentioned here:ok
