having passed my test many moons ago, I havent been anywhere near a 2metre set ( or anything else ) for years.
The glorified CB (thats all ham radio is ) days are well and truly over!!

Same here Alg havnt renewed my license for years ,most Hams
now use the internet
Dont know weather you have seen EQSO it is used by Hams & Swls
to talk now & not a radio in site

well my call sign was a G7, although my m8 used to use my call sign more than I did, but he died of cancer a few years ago so I cant really start using it again, besides I cant really be bothered with all the logs and crap that went with it.

Oh yes we are here and some of us are still very active, all types of digital mode including squirting signals through the International Space Station. The other hobby is working my way throgh all the different types of RED WINE that are on the market, this I guess will be a lifetimes work <:)

Such a shame this post has gone so negative,
a year i cant pinpoint when Bravo were re-running Thunderbirds
at 10pm and a near neighbour was useing his s/w radio and interfering
with my viewing. went round to complain and he was quite agressive!

Next day he was full of apologies and came round with magnetic circles
for my speakers.

We became m8s. Mikes dad was dying of cancer.
mike has now gone taken by cancer.

since dicky posted notice of attending the radio show at donnie iv been toying with the idea..(actually been thinkin bout it for years)..that may well be all it ever gets as far as knowing me...but i am still looking for a new distraction:biggrin

now wether youre for against the idea im a little surprised at the ammount of attention this thread recieved..which says to me its at least worth a chance????
if it proves to be a lame duck it can always be removed again:ok
