Been thinking about this for a while...i have a huge cd collection and i get dj only cd`s every month, I was wondering what you forum members think of if i create a cd every now and then which will include songs on compiled by me and so many songs that have been requested, this will be put up on a website somewhere for you to download..etc

a uksat radiio station would be cool, i know it was talked about a while back, but there is a lot more bandwidth going about nowdays.
maybe just a couple of hours a night either with different presenters or themed nights. :ok

Yea, thats a pretty neat idea Dave. We did used to have one running for a couple of months, but if a few of us got together and took it in turns, we could probably keep it going .............

The cd would be a mixture of songs m8 from all decades including new stuff and maybe dj mixes etc so yes that does include old skool, along with everything else...
Has for the radio ....we tried it several times last year we did manage to get it up n running but lack of support made it impossible to continue, so yes to the radio station (but lets share it not just mods but everyone after all we are the friendly forum), you dont need 320kbps mp3s these are way too high for online radio, you dont need a mixer (i do have a couple in the loft) there are several programs that could be used to make a radio program ie acid / cool edit etc you can put together a hours show in less than 20 minutes, ie drag n drop mp3s record voice etc save to a mp3, then this gets uploaded somewhere and then its bunged onto radio automation software so as soon as that ends another show kicks in etc.

The one we had on the old site simply used winamp in conjunction with the shoutcast plug-in, anyone could set that up and use a DNS service to point to a different ip address every night ..............

I know m8, but the one i was running i was able to schedule songs etc etc and take requests (ask Nikki as i played her several of her fave songs etc), what about embedding shows into webpages ie via flash that way then record show and up onto a webpage etc, a listener could also then choose what type of music/show they want to listen to at anytime etc.
