hi guys my son has flashed my xbox 360 and something has gone wrong when he puts the drive back into the xbox it says error 66 anyone know what that means he has tryed putting the old fermwere back in but no joy tx

putting the old firmware back on should always fix this problem

Think its to do with the the version of the 360 drive and what flash you put on it............sorry to rob your post but i need a bit of help my pioneer 111d is packing in one minute it burn a disk but then it will spit the next disk out so i have 1 DL disk left and i have just taxed my brothers laptop.I dont know much about his laptop but the drive is Nec dvd rw nd-6750a.I just wanted to know can i use it to burn a 360 backup game,1 game 1 try

if so try this move the dvdr to the 2nd ide channel i had problems with all 3 of my dvdrs last year working on and off - nec,pion,samsung at the last atempt i moved the writer to the second ide channel (and i think i even stuck the jumpers on slave but cant confirm this not at that pc at the moment )and life as been sweet since with it!.

Also what discs are u using i started to use aone dl for xbox360 burned ok and played ok 7ish for 10 printables.

Its the same on 2 differnt Pc m8 And am using a Traxdata 2.4 but i usually use Verbatim 2.4.How much are those disk you use as these Verbatims are to dear.

any you have know problem with these.I was alway told to get the verbatim ones as the cheap ones break you drive plus get 2.4 speed

I use the verbs for everything else m8 i have 400 of them sitting waiting to be used, but the guy who owns the shop knows me and told me that the aone dl`s are actually ricoh and are excellent i burn these at 8speed and theyre so far so good 17 burned in 2 weeks no probs at all.

and youve had no problem with your 360 drive.if not i think ill be ordering a few of these to try when i get a new pioneer 112d

yes mate error 66 is is a firmware problem that happens to some xbox 360s


he must read the guides on xbox scene forums

there are afew ways to fix this providing he backed up his original firmware

one of them would be to reflash the box back to the original firmware (never fails according to xbox scene )

then use a firmware flash that makes changes to the original firmware
to make it play backups sooner than using a full new firmware what gives you error 66.

well it burn ok but when i stick it in the 360 after a few second it just comes up open tray
