If you own a car or bike read on...
Importance: High

Over 71,000 signatures according to this morning's "Today" programme and a lot more people are signing this than the petitions to halt ID cards and to reverse the hunting ban. This hits the General Public in the pocket. Politicians only seem to take notice when their cushy Parliamentary Seats are at risk.

Sign and pass it on. It only takes a minute.

The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to
Purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.
The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC,
The lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery
Driver.
A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in
One month.
On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will
Know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been
Going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a
NIP with your monthly bill.
If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car
Driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website

....http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/ (http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/)

Please pass this on to anyone who owns a car/motorcycle. It affects them.

I dont think they wont do it, you know why? They wont cut off their nose to spite the face.

They KNOW smoking and drinking kills thousands of people in the UK each year and cost the health service billions! yet they wont ban tobacco for the good of the people (dont want a flaim war here peeps) because they get so much revenue in on tobacco and booze they wouldn't want to loose it. They also get so much tax from the motorist in road fund tax, fines, even insurance tax that if they were to force the motorist off the road where would money come from? I read somewhere that over 85% of the cost of fuel is tax! That brass goes straight to the government.

what a fantastic country we live in.............. yeah your so right M8, I'm starting to think of retiring abroad somewhat earlier than I had planned.
