I know this is a long term debate but I ran across this initiative from the giants in flat tv screes, namely Panasonic, Hitachi & Pioneer. There is a lot of myths specially when it come up to plasma tv's particularly from people that present opinions before knowing the full facts. Personally prefer the plasmas every time and it is confirmed with this: -

Hope this would be helpful when deciding your next purchase.

I'm not sure I believe what is written on that site. It's a pro-plasma website set up by the very companies that produce plasma TV's - talk about having a vested interest.
"Our belief – backed by independent research – is that plasma is the best for 37 inch and higher"
Could this quote have anything to do with 40-42" being the selling 'sweet spot'? It's not as if you can't get LCD's bigger than 37. I think they are shitting themselves about losing market share to LCD.
I would rather believe reviews/comparisions from independent sources.

"Our belief – backed by independent research –
i always wonder, who actually pays for this "independant research"

Always used the following site:
h**p://www.homecinemachoice.com/reviews/
Fairly independant, upto date and detailed.

For your information this website was advertised by homecinemachoice.com. Why would these companies stick their neck out and do this. I'm sure their logos and company names wouldn't be advertised on this website through a bullshit source.

Why indeed? I have no idea, but would guess that it involves advertising somewhere
