This is the first time I have placed a message in a forum as I have generally been able to sort things out looking at other peoples similiar problems. However I have two systems working from the same 1mtr dish and dual LNB. A Technomate 1500 CI and external positioner. This is working ok. The other is a Skystar 2 system purchased 2 years ago from Donnington. I cannot get DVB4.44.1 to load and I get the XP has encountered a problem routine. However version 4.71 loads OK. Hopefully somebody can help. Thanks in anticipation. Satbuilder. (Yes I have worked on them, some we are watching the other lost on Mars.)

Welcome mate, have you checked Technotrends website for a new drivers ?

I assume you ment Technisat. I have now updated the driver from the web site and installed it but the same problems occur one version works the other closes down.

Sorry mate, yes I meant Technisat. Try deleting the Prog.ini file from the version of Prog that wont run and try again ..........

Some versions of prog require the full ss2 package not just the driver

Thanks for the suggestions so far but still no joy. What is the full SS2 package please ?

He means the other apps that come on the Skystar driver disk but if you didnt already have them installed then the card wouldnt work with any version mate ..........

Have you tried copying the prog.ini file from the version that does work into the version that doesnt ? Dont forget to make sure that it's not set to 'read only' ............

The problem with loading DVB4.44.1CS was the yankse .dll. After removing this and the associated files the prog. loaded and worked after a fashion. A few secs of stable audio and video and then it began to 'stutter' and eventually locked. I was using an fta channel for the test. I tried the latest version DVB4.78 and that gave similiar symptoms. I have had the SS2 card for two years and it was running OK using its original drivers from Technisat. I would like to revert back to them but cannot find the original disc. Are they available as a download?
