about to change the house fire and boiler.
looks like a condenser boiler is favourite nowadays.
sounds like a combi is troublesome.

The radiators are staying... the back boiler is going as the tatty fire is connected
to it..

just wondering if anyone has renewed thier boiler recently,, and has any comments ..helpful comments please.

also if you can recommend a person or company to do the fitting
would be appreciated.. (Hello Tiesto m8) ......:rolleyes2

Both condensing and combi are much more likely to have probs compared to "traditional" types...... they are more complicated in design.

New boilers are now supposed to be of the condensing type (whether plain or combi) the main difference between the two is that combis have all the gubbins inside the cabinet whereas plain condensing have pumps, Y-valves etc. outside.

Although HM Government insists that new/replacement boilers must be of the condensing type, if you look at the Home Office website, you can d'load a form that, when completed, may allow a traditional boiler to be installed; it is related to cost and difficulty of replacing traditional with condensing. A CORGI installer has to sign the form in order to go ahead with a non-condensing installation.

Best of luck, Shire M8 whichever you end up with:wink:
