pc not seeing my cd/dvd rom drives

hi all ive got a prob with my pc its on win xp home the computer is not seeing my rom drives ?? ive been in the divice manager and it says the drive is copupet or missing files and then says code 39 >???? any one no whats up here as i carnt set up my internet conection with the pc am haveing 2 use my laptop as my pc and its pissing my off

any help would be apreceated ive uninstalled the drivers then went 2 look for new divices they came back but the same has happened ?????????????

just checked on g***le might not be much help but typed in your operating system as youve put it and it show up a couple of problem one is device driver corrupt or registery error. would try and go on line type this in on g***le see you can download then transfer over to comp or if you can get to comp fair wed night at aintree should be software that fix registery or errors.

The only other way is insert operating disc an see if repair can be done or go back to system restore to earlier date might work

yes m8 done that

its in the c-com computers in rainhill and he carnt sort it YET and going 2 ring him now thanks all ive tryed 2 do all i can my end with the pc but its not havein it
