I dont have this issue i use a VPN company, 50mb Virgin was downloading at roughly 3-4mb/s from torrents then the traffic shaping came into operation and during the day speed was often less than 50kb/s.

Since i joined up with these guys i download from torrents during the day at far better speeds currently downloading a couple of blu-rays at 3.4MB/s.

So maybe for you lot worth a look, i use BolehVPN i haven`t had any real issues and theyre reasonable i think, others are available and may be better but for p2p theyre ok
they do a trial 3 days for $1.80 (US) so around a pound 30days for $10 and it gets cheaper the longer you subscribe, but i like to take a month at a time just incase they go crap etc.
