well i got one of these android phones a few month ago for the daughter and she made up with some of the apps and games for it , so she uses it for her music, surfing the net and the odd phone call lol.
when the apple ipad came out a few weeks ago i was told that a android version was on it's way and low and be hold the Chinese have done it again , i was thinking of getting one for her although don't know how good they are going to be , has any body seen or used one or have any advice about them.

don't think i will get one till i see how they get on with them

any advice would be great

I think the Android pads are quite a bit smaller screen size than the apple versions are they not?.

thanks Dave :ok

think most of them have a 7 " screen although some have a 8" one , i was told that some reputable company was going to bring on out soon although it looks like the Chinese are throwing them out , she does use her phone alot although it only has a small screen , these apads only seam cheap and she wants one although what to get ~

do i wait for one from a more known name firm to bring one out
do i try one from china
do i get one from a English's seller

any advice would be great , there never going to be a ipad but i think these androids phone are giving apple a run for their money

Trev i have had a few gadgets from china, phones, mp3 players cameras etc! they are a lot cheaper than buying from the uk, but what i have noticed with them all is that the batteries tend to die very quick or never hold a charge.

i would wait a while or look for second hand on ebay or local papers etc! mate :ok

with the chinese clone versions of ipod iphone and probs the ipad if its out, they are not compatable with itunes

thanks Kev

would not agree more about some of these Chinese things although some of the clones like the dream box have been good value for money , maybe i see if a UK model comes out like i was told first.

A lot of things from the likes of Deal Extreme do have reports of poor battery charge times on a number of items. But I guess that's part of the reason why a lot of such items are cheaper from such places.

The only advantage I can think of with waiting for a uk supplier to get them is that returning them if they break down would be easier and cheaper. Though if they are still imports from the same factories then there would be no difference in the opperating abilities of them what so ever.

Plus dealing with uk importers would mean you'd certainly pay more on the vat basis and extra cost of buying in the uk in general.

Dave well when i looked on the bay i found that the UK sellers were slightly higher although when you take into consideration that if you have any problems then you ain't got to go back to china as don't think that's worth the hassle , then you always got the chance of got the chance of getting charged import tax .

well i suppose a UK seller will buy a job lot then add his bit on it , basically i said i would get her one for Christmas and that is a long way off so i can see how they go. i read that one Chinese company claimed they made things for samsung , htc etc whether they do whom knows.
