missing files

hi people have a prob with one of my comps when i start it up it says missing hal.dll anyone know how to fix this. its on winxp have done a windows repair but no joy. what other way is there for this error tx

You just need to replace the file mate. You could do this in DOS, or follow the instructions below:

i have a lappy here doing the same thing. i replaced hal.dll, it then said ntokrnl.exe missing, sorted that, then c_850.dll and so on and so on.

format the fecker and have done with it, use a boot disk of some sort to back up any data you wish to keep

use this prog and it will make a bootable linux usb drive. (use linux-mint its very user friendly)

only if the computer supports booting from usb, otherwise burn a cd
