took the car to get a tyre change.left the car in there good hands.
the fitter rang to advise need tyre and balance, alignment.i agree and told to pick car up at 3.00pm.
get to pick car up i was advised that it does not start and they push car off with jobs done.
i try car not only has my starter motor burnt out but thr ignition barrel is to say knackered.
i get towed to my mechanic who says possibly forced ignition/though can go any time though they should nt have burnt the starter motor.my mechanic reckons they were possibly checking for exhaust damage to get more money of me.
any way the fitter doesn't apologise and says we can fit a new starter motor from 180.00p.
i have rang customer service who took details and wait for area manager to call.
i must say that at all times i kept the lid on my amusement as my 4 year old son was with me,though my son did enjoy the tow truck ride.

Had similar probs two years ago. Took wifes car for MOT with them. Had car for six years previously had no lock problems.
Went to collect car and it was parked up outside , but unlocked. Central locking not working. When told about it the mechanics all shrugged , not interested.
Head office of theirs said too bad --could happen at any time!! Will never go there again

well had the run around from kwikcrap.
they will now not send me a letter regarding incident. even though the area manager said he would after he interviewed the garage and yes it was not their fault.the customer service was bollix and i was very polite, honest.
so trading standards are involved and they mentioned supply of goods act.
have to write a letter to kwikcrap demandin a response in 14 days.
prior to that cs wanted to look at the defective parts and the repair not done by a cowboy garage!!!!
ps if you hear about old swan, edge lane go up in smoke this weekend it aint me!

Thing is Jake,as WE know, they rely on people who know no better and think that Kwik Fit etc are the experts(?).
Fact is,they have seminars/classes on how to draw as much cash out of a customer as possible. My missus went to a place just recently for a simple repair(she had already been given instruction from me about what a women can expect, and did). The 'Expert' told her she needed a new tyre etc as it was near its limit. The car had just been MOT'd before hand.As you are aware, when a vehicle is given a test, the examiner/inspector must take into account whether a part will last a minimum of 12 months from the test date, under normal use.I spoke to this prick and told him it was a nearly new set of tyres and the MOT had just been done and could he explain himself. He offered 'some tyres wear out fast'!I told him my missus would have to be a formula 1 driver to wear them out that fast.Just get the fuckn tyre repaired dickhead, dont make me leave work early and have to deal with it myself. The conversation ended there. Now,that was a reasonably big local firm trying it on.But dont forget, they have to compete with the other shower.THE MORAL BEING-Use a 1 man business close to home.....there's enough of them and they can be trusted. Why not buy part worn?If you want new, shop around the suppliers like HAMP in Widnes, buy a tyre and have it fitted at your local fitter. It will save u ££££££££££££s.

i/we use a large company Mr tyre. i ring for quote which usually is the cheapest around and drive it in within the hour ...if busy you might have to wait in a queue but jobs are always done professinally within a couple of hours ...
the baffles are rattling on the latest exhaust section i bought and i would'nt recommend them for aftersales service ..they do have a warm clean waiting room but i always wait just inside the bay & watch what theyre up to
i still never understand how the other shower stay in business :ok
