My son has an xbox360 elite with 120gig hd , what i want to know is
can you back up origional games onto the hd and play the game off the hard drive without having to insert the disc to play it ??????
when he plays on it using the disc they always end up not working properley (probably worn out with the amount of time he spends on it)
Thans for any advice

The play from hard drive facility seems to still need the original disc to be in the xbox too.
Shame as it doesnt quite cut out all of the noise from the drive.

cheers mate
seems a waste of time having a hard drive , may as well just use a memory card instead.
cheers anyway for the reply

I think I recall it posted elsewere that you have to install something to the 360's hard drive to get it to play the divx\xvid films properly.

you need the disk to boot the games, but the loading time between level is very quick, and also if you run vista, the xbox is a media extender and you can stream divx to it

I use a ps3 and a xbox360 to stream films from several tb hd`s i have on this pc.
Download Tversity install(and codecs) allow it to run in firewall and as long as the xbox360/ps3 is on the same network it should pick it up and you can stream divx/xvid mp3`s etc over the network to it etc...and playback on the tv the console is connected to..
